Illegal Warradarge feedlots
A Victorian company received a stiff fine in Perth Magistrate’s Court this week for operating an illegal feed lot near Warradarge, south of Eneabba.
Magistrate Richard Bayly heard how Kalimpa Park Pty Ltd started building extensive stockyards in February 2017 before seeking approval from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation and submitting plans.
Inspections in July and November showed significant erosion, and dams and infrastructure being built to different sizes and places to what was shown in those plans.
The Magistrate imposed a $30,000 fine for constructing an unauthorised cattle feedlot and ordered Kalimpa to pay $578.70 court costs and $9063 to the Department in lieu of the cost of a works approval.
