AFL: West Coast ensured there was no new coach bounce for Essendon as they nabbed their fourth win of the season.

The Eagles went into the contest unchanged from the side that nearly upset Collingwood at the MCG while Essendon had a flurry of injuries to contend with.

Recap all the action from our blog.

Night all!

That’s a wrap for round 12 and we have officially hit the halfway mark of the AFL season.

Fremantle sit a game clear at the top while West Coast have shown clear improvement.

But can it continue?

We’ll be back next week for a super Saturday of WA footy in Bunbury and then at Optus Stadium.

Until then, farewell!

Andrew McQualter has made a big call on his key defender. Is he right?

ICYMI

Harley Reid had another stellar night and plenty of Bombers will be feeling thr bruises he left behind tomorrow.

Just ask Zach Reid.

Guess the player

Andrew McQualter had this to say about one of his stopping small forwards that also comes into the middle for a touch of spark.

“He’s just a little dog with a bone.”

Warm rooms

There’s a lot of young kids running around the Eagles rooms and it adds a very positive atmosphere for the players.

McQualter embraced his daughters while Yeo and Cole had their kids with them.

The song

Enjoy it, Eagles fans!

MATCH WRAP

Here’s Mitchell Woodcock’s wrap-up of the night at Optus Stadium, where the Eagles finally went from bullied to bullies to take advantage of a struggling Essendon.

Lapping it up

Players are making their way around the boundary, dishing out high-fives, posing for selfies, and enjoying the atmosphere.

It’s another win for Andrew McQualter to help nourish the Eagles, and they’d likely start as betting favourites for next week’s home clash against Port Adelaide in an attempt to make it five victories before the bye.
