GOLD!!!!!!
Breanna Scott has nabbed another gold medal for Australia in the gymnastics.
The balance beam was her last event and she pulled out an incredible routine.
She barely missed a step with a score on 13.933.
It’s the second Games in a row Australia have won the gold in the event with Kate McDonald having done so in 2022.
McDonald finished last in the final this time round but won’t care after her gold medal win yesterday in the uneven bars.
WINNER
In a split decision the Aussie gets revenge!
He was well beaten in the first round but his aggressive comeback has booked him a semifinal!
Australia now have at least two boxing medals to come.
Round 3 - Too tight!
Cassar piled on the pressure but kept his guard tight through the opening blows.
Both fighters are moving well and this will be a very tight bout to score.
Cassar got in a nice right hook after a body shot and it will work in his favour.
They both celebrate but we will wait for the scores.
Round 2 - Cassar on a spilt
The Aussie has turned to bruiser mode to start getting some points and his punches look better and faster.
Labrie was warned twice to keep his head up and could be docked a point if it happens again.
Cassar wants a knockout and the approach looks to be changing Labrie’s tactics.
Round two is split.
Round 1 - Labrie
This is not the first time these two have met and the Canadien got the better of the Aussie last time.
He gets some early strikes in early here from the outside as well and looks sharp.
Cassar chases him around but is getting hurt on the counter by the southpaw.
The 19-year-old Aussie goy some strong punches in during the last minute but the round goes to Labrie.
Welterweight
Jacob Cassar has just made his appearance in the boxing ring to fight Canada’s Gabriel Labrie.
The 19-year-old can ensure a minimum of bronze with a win in this quarterfinal.
Round 2 - Dixon wins!
Hossain continues to come forward with little success but Dixon’s big shots are also missing.
The 21-year-old Aussie was given a message to attack and he did well with two perfect right hands.
The ref had to stop the fight to check on Hossain but continued the bout.
The Bangladeshi landed one blow to the chin but it didn’t dent Dixon who got a second count and the ref calls it!
Round 1 - Dixon
Dixon used his defence well and laid an early jab to the body.
Hossain threw a few combinations but Dixon’s head movement is sharp.
Dixon’s counter-punch timing was very good but he will need to be a touch more aggressive to make sure of scoring the points.
He is clearly the better boxer but it only takes one punch for it all to be over.
Bout 100
Australia’s Jye Dixon has the 100th fight of the Glasgow Games in the Boxing as he takes on 27-year-old Bangladeshi Md Rakib Hossain.
The winner of this bout is garunteed a medal in the semifinal.
Bumped off
James Hardy will have to wait for another medal.
He has been bumped down to fourth in the vault final by Muhammad Aimy of Malaysia.
Cyprian Neofytos Kyriakou sits in second and is on track to claim Cyrus’ first-ever medal in the event.
