Teens charged over car theft, burglary across northern suburbs
Two teenage boys will face court on multiple charges after a car was stolen from a home in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs followed by a spate of burglaries earlier this week.
Police said a grey 2019 model Lexus hatchback was stolen from a home in Ashfield on Tuesday, February 25 which was then involved in a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Ballajura.
The Lexus was then involved in two evade police incidents on Thursday, February 27.
Police said the car was seen in several areas about 2.30pm that day, including the Tonkin Highway, as well as the suburbs of Morley, Dianella, Noranda, Beechboro, Malaga and Ballajura.
A 16-year-old from Ballajura has been charged with attempted home burglary with intent, steal motor vehicle and no authority to drive.
A 14-year-old from Swan View has been charged with steal motor vehicle and stealing.
The pair are due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court on March 5.
