Cottesloe beach has reopened after swimmers were earlier ordered out of the water after a tagged great white shark was detected.

Surf Lifesaving WA made the call just after 7am.

The shark was detected twice at the North Cottesloe receive, first at 5.51am and then at 6.09am.
