Richmond Tigers keen for big comeback in 2022 as full playing squad return to training

Taj StubberNarrogin Observer

After some downtime following the 2021 AFL season, Richmond’s full squad returned to Punt Road on Monday to start preseason training.

Senior members of the Tigers squad, including Pingaring’s Liam Baker, joined the younger players on the track as their preparations begin for the 2022 premiership season.

The Tigers missed the finals earlier this year for the first time since 2016.

They were looking to wining their fourth premiership in five years, but weren’t able to do so.

However, the club will be determined to get back to their best next season, and a host of stars returned to the training track in good shape after the off-season break.

Baker returned to WA after the 2021 season finished and spent time with family and friends, and made the trip back to his family farm before heading back to Victoria to start training.

The 23-year-old finished runner-up in the Tigers’ fairest and best after a breakout season in which he spent more time through the midfield.

The Tigers are set to play Carlton at the MCG on Thursday, March 17 in round one.
