Carnarvon police have returned a caravan and boat to its owner after a tip-off from a member of the community.

The alleged theft of the items was reported when the occupant of a home on Douglas Street, South Carnarvon, woke to find the items missing on November 1.

Police said they found the caravan and boat on Monday while executing a search warrant at a home on North River Road, North Plantations, following a report the items had been seen there.

Sergeant Scott McDonald the items were found parked at the side of the house and no effort had been made to conceal them.

“It is an unusual theft, especially for two items of such size to be taken from the one premises,” he said.
