Matt Dadd named Mid West-Gascoyne bushfire risk officer

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has appointed Matt Dadd as its new Mid West-Gascoyne bushfire risk management officer.
Mr Dadd has more than 20 years experience in fire management services and bushfire mitigation roles, including in the Southern Forest region and the Shire of Dandaragan.
DFES Mid West-Gascoyne Superintendent Craig Smith said Mr Dadd’s new role was wide-ranging but included working with local governments to carry out bushfire planning.
“Part of his job is to identify where the bushfire risk is, and then develop and implement plans to reduce that risk,” he said.
Mr Dadd said he was looking forward to the new role.
