An Asian tourist in her early 20s had to be rescued from Kalbarri National Park after dislocating her knee late yesterday.

State Emergency Service volunteers were forced to carry out a rope rescue, lifting the woman up a 35 metre cliff.

Kalbarri SES unit manager Stephen Cable said the woman was walking the Z-Bend trail with a group when she suffered the injury about 5pm.

She was taken to the Kalbarri Health Centre for treatment and later discharged.
