A 42-year-old Northampton woman has been charged after police allegedly seized five mature cannabis plants and a bong during the search of a Northampton home.

Officers from Northampton and Kalbarri searched the woman’s home about 1pm last Thursday following a tip off from a member of the public.

Northampton Police Station officer-in-charge Sergeant Matt Donkin said the plants were quite large.

“They were really bushy, mature plants that had grown outwards and measured about 70 to 80cm in height,” he said.

The woman was charged with one count of cultivating cannabis, one count of possessing cannabis, and one count of possessing a smoking implement.

Sgt Donkin said Northampton and Kalbarri police worked closely together and often assisted each other with search warrants.
