Alleged drug-fuelled rampage causes $10,000 damage

A 28-year-old Mount Magnet man has been charged after allegedly causing more than $10,000 damage to a car and property on Wednesday.

Police said the man admitted to being on a methamphetamine bender when he stormed the home of a relative on Kennedy Court, Mount Magnet about 4.30pm.

Police allege he kicked holes in walls and kitchen cabinets, smashed a TV, kicked a fridge over, ripped off security doors, smashed windows, and broke every window on a Hyundai sedan belonging to the occupant.

A man was found wandering the streets of Mount Magnet the next day and arrested.

He was charged with criminal damage and refused bail, before being taken to Geraldton Police Station for the night.

He will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court today.
