The consistent eight ball duo of Dax Wasley and Dean Curry will put an impressive record on the line in Saturday’s MLG Goldfields Open Doubles at Boulder’s Grand Hotel.

After winning the tournament in 2009, the Wasley-Curry pairing have played in every grand final since and claimed 10 titles.

Their imposing record includes six consecutive victories between 2012 and 2017.

Last year, however, they had to settle for the runners-up trophy after lowering their colours to Brody Conroy and Rombert Rico.

Nominations will be taken from 1pm, with matches to start at 1.30pm.

Meanwhile in domestic action, first division matches were won by top sides Workers’ Club Young Guns and Grand Trolley Boys.

In the second division, points were banked by Grand Plan, Workers’ Club, Star and Garter, Gala Warriors and Grand Grandies.

In Thursday’s top match-ups, division 1 interest centres on the Tower Hotel when the home side takes on first-placed Workers’ Club.

Grand Hotel hosts the derby between Plan and Grandies for in-house bragging rights.
