The Albany Netball Association season came to a thrilling close with hundreds of players competing in grades’ grand finals.
Four clubs triumphed in the A2 to A5 grades, ensuring the grand final honours were spread around the competition in the contests played at Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre on September 19.
Kangas 2 became the A2 champions after a 36-33 win over Magpies 2, romping home thanks to their clinical final quarter after the sides were level 28-each at the last break.
The A3 showdown between Sonics 1 and Narrikup 3 was also an enthralling affair as Sonics survived a mammoth Narrikup fightback in the final term.

Sonics were leading 34-26 after Kaylee Arthur scored with five minutes left. The closing stages were dominated by Narrikup, who grabbed the last seven goals but could not find a leveller to beat the final whistle.
Sonics eventually won 34-33 thanks to Arthur’s 16-goal contribution.
The A4 grand final matched Narrikup 5 against Royals Saints 5, with the Royals coasting to the title 56-36.

Royals bagged the first four goals of the contest and although Narrikup fought back, the champions were 28-17 up at half-time and well in control.
Railways 4 were too good for Narrikup 7 in the A5 final, winning 44-32 after a competitive first half.
The A6 competition brought Kangas their second flag of the year as Kangas 5 demolished Griffins 6 by 32 goals.

The winners finished in style, grabbing 12 of the 14 goals in the fourth quarter to close out an emphatic victory 52-20.
In the junior finals, Magpies 5 beat Railways 5 42-36 to clinch the B1 flag and they made it a double with the B2 championship after Magpies 6 held off Kangas 7 to win 34-29.
