One of Perth’s largest-ever runway events, hosted by Australian fashion designer Pip Edwards in Claremont, drew many famous faces from the city’s fashion and influencer scene.

Thursday night at Claremont Quarter played host to a fashion show called Courting Summer, which celebrated the arrival of new spring and summer trends from Aussie designers.

Edwards, co-founder of active-streetwear brand P.E Nation, stunned in a Zimmerman dress as she opened the show with a speech shouting out Perth’s strong creative talent and easy but elevated lifestyle.

“Perth has always punched above its weight creatively; there is such a strong pool of talent here across fashion, music, art and design, and I think that gives the city its own cultural identity,” the Sydney-sider said.

“Style is never really about the clothes; it’s about how you live in them, how you wear them, how they become your second skin and how you make them your own.”

Edwards said this summer her style was going to be all about “leaning into maximalism, lots of colour, glowing skin and great accessories”.

She said she would also be “breaking rules” by “clashing colour”.

Sitting front row was Jules Neale, who looked glamorous in a figure-hugging white gown that flowed behind her, which she paired with silver heels and a bedazzled handbag.

Perth fashion designer Poppy Lissiman was also in attendance with her marketing executive husband Harrison Kennedy, who was dressed in an abundance of colour, most notably a green bomber jacket and electric blue pants.

Bec Judd’s sister Kate Twigley dressed on theme, looking pretty in pink, while other well-known influencers in the crowd included The Bachelor star Ellie Rolfe, Now Socials Co founder Bree Connor, Montana Criddle, real estate agents Emma Milner and Danielle Geagea and Dr Deb Cohen-Jones.

Recognisable models who strutted their stuff on the tennis court runway included Rebecca Jobson, Brooklyn Metropolis and Anya Peterson.
