Australia have claimed one bronze on the final night of the 19th FINA world championships to finish with a haul of 19 medals in Budapest.

After 34-year-old Shixin Li came third in the one-metre springboard on Thursday - Australia's first in diving - the pair of Maddison Keeney and Anabelle Smith secured the bronze in the women's 3m synchronised springboard final on Sunday.

The recently crowned national champions finished with a points tally of 294.12, behind China (343.14) and Japan (303.00).

Now the focus for the Rio Olympics bronze medallists turns to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham later this month.

China continued their dominance in the sport as the country's divers won gold in all 13 events on offer in Hungary.

Yang Jian defended his title in the men's 10m platform final to close the Games with a score of 515.55.

Japan's Rikuto Tamai (488.00) won silver with China's Hao Yang (485.45) claiming bronze.

Over 3000 divers from 47 nations performed during the eight-day competition including nine Olympic medallists from Tokyo.
