The South West Slammers women’s team head to Esperance this weekend, where they will face the Goldfields Giants on both Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Although the games are very much winnable, the Slammers enter the double header on the back of a 124-51 hiding against the Warwick Senators — a match where they were grossly uncompetitive as a team in several areas, despite having polished senior players Alex Ciabattoni and Tylinn Carter on the floor.

One positive from the loss was the hard work displayed by Tiahna Sears (seven points, 10 rebounds, one steal), who fought hard until the final whistle.

Slammers coach Robyn Vogel was contacted for comment.
