VideoDisgraced former Swan Elijah Taylor has spoken for the first time since he was charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

West Coast have named a young side to take on an experienced Fremantle line-up tomorrow at Mineral Resources Park, with both sides taking the opportunity to give some fresh faces a run in the scratch match.

Both teams naming 27-man teams, with the Eagles calling on both of last year’s trade period acquisitions, giving fans their first look at small forward Zac Langdon (GWS) and defender Alex Witherden (Brisbane) in blue and yellow.

The side will be lacking experience with multiple senior players left out due to injury including Nic Naitanui (hamstring), Elliot Yeo (osteitis pubis), Jake Waterman (back), Tim Kelly (thumb), Josh Kennedy (calf), Mark Hutchings (knee) and Bailey Williams (quad).

Fremantle will field a near full strength side on Saturday with the only notable omissions being star forward Matt Taberner (quad) and ruckman Sean Darcy (knee).

Senior stars Nat Fyfe, Luke Ryan, David Mundy, Michael Walters, Alex Pearce and Joel Hamling will line up with exciting draftees Heath Chapman and Josh Treacy.

Chapman was Freo’s top draft pick in 2020 while Treacy has been the surprise of the preseason, after being taken deep into the rookie draft.

The pair impressed in the Dockers intra-club and throughout the preseason and should use the opportunity to build momentum towards and early season AFL debut.

While the hit-out won’t be open to the public, you can live stream the whole event through the clubs’ websites from 10 AM WST.
