Jules Neale has shared an emotional update with followers as she continues to navigate life following her separation from AFL star Lachie Neale.
The split came after a highly publicised period in the couple’s relationship, which saw Jules relocate from Queensland to Western Australia with daughter Piper and son Freddie, while Lachie remained in Brisbane due to his commitments with the Lions.
Since the separation, the pair have been co-parenting their two children across state lines, with Lachie describing the arrangement as “obviously tough” while praising Jules for her flexibility and support.
Jules appeared visibly emotional in an Instagram Story on Tuesday after trying hypnotherapy for the first time, saying she had spent an hour crying following the session.
“Don’t mind my appearance I’ve just been like crying for like an hour straight because I did hyponotherapy.”
She said the experience had helped her process emotions in a way she hadn’t achieved through traditional therapy, describing it as unexpectedly powerful.
“It was incredible. I just wanted to share it cos I thought if anyone is dealing with anything emotionally, you know, any kind of trauma or anything that you would go to normal talk therapy, traditional talk therapy for. Maybe try hynotherapy as well because I feel like that did a lot more for me in one session than talk therapy has before.“It kind of delves a little bit deeper I suppose. Yeah it was really incredible so I just wanted to share that. Sending my love.”
Jules has previously spoken about “rebuilding her glow quietly” and focusing on herself after the breakdown of her marriage, while also adjusting to single parenting life in Perth.
After celebrating her 36th birthday, she reflected on her personal journey on Instagram: “I used to be religious about my routine. And then I got a little distracted along the way,” she wrote.
“I stopped showing up for myself the way I used to. But lately, I have been fighting my way back. There’s just something really powerful about rebuilding your glow quietly.
“My mornings feel brighter, my days feel lighter, and it feels like I’m choosing myself again.”
Meanwhile, Lachie has remained based in Brisbane with the Lions, continuing his AFL career while co-parenting from afar, saying he is “very fortunate” Jules allows him flexibility to see the children despite the distance.
Months after the shocking alleged affair news, the AFL star broke his silence on life co-parenting across state lines in an interview with The Age last week.
“It’s obviously tough not having the kids here, but I’m pretty lucky that Jules, their mother, allows me to come and go from Perth,” Neale told the media outlet.
“I get Piper over here a fair bit … I am very fortunate that Jules has been very flexible with that, and I am able to go back to Perth with the club’s blessing whenever I want.”
