A woman has been seriously hurt after a postal van and Holden Trax collided at a North Dandalup intersection.

The 68-year-old was driving the Holden when it collided with a white Toyota postal van at the intersection of Corio and Lakes roads in the Peel region about 2.30pm on Friday.

She was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old woman driving the postal van had minor injuries and was taken to Rockingham General Hospital.

Major crash investigation section detectives have appealed for witnesses and vision of the crash.
