WA fuel prices: Pain at the pump as unleaded and diesel prices in every region of state set to rise

WA motorists are in for a sting at the bowser, with diesel prices set to jump almost 5c a litre across Perth from tomorrow morning.

The metropolitan average for diesel will climb to 270.8c a litre, up 4.7c on today’s 266.1c average.

For motorists filling up with brand diesel, the average will hit 279.3c/L — a hefty 5.2c increase.

It comes as regular unleaded also edges higher, although the spike is less dramatic.

The average price for unleaded petrol will rise 0.8c to 230.9c/L tomorrow, so filling a typical 50-litre tank would cost about $115.45 at the metropolitan average.

Drivers opting for premium will also pay more, with PULP rising to 247.4c/L and 98 RON climbing to 256.2c.

Where motorists choose to fill up will make a noticeable difference.

Vibe has the cheapest brand average at 222.1c tomorrow, while BP is at the other end of the spectrum at 236.2c, a difference of 14.1c/L.

Outside the metropolitan area, every single region of the state is set to hit with more expensive prices from tomorrow. Albany motorists are facing the biggest ULP increase, with the regional average jumping 4.4c to 229.4c/L.

Port and South Hedland remains the most expensive location listed, with an average of 261.1c, while Bunbury has the lowest regional average at 224.6c.

Geraldton, Kalgoorlie/Boulder, Karratha, Busselton, Esperence and Karratha are all set to be hit with ULP price increases of at least 1c/L tomorrow.

The new prices come into effect from 6am Friday, September 18.
