West Australian police chief Chris Dawson will replace Kim Beazley as the State’s next governor, Premier Mark McGowan has announced.

Mr Dawson, who has also served as the State emergency coordinator during the COVID-19 pandemic, will take office in July.

He will become the Sate’s 34th governor, Mr McGowan announced on Monday.
