Passengers left screaming after man attempts to open emergency door on Qatar Airways flight from Perth to Doha

A passenger had to be restrained on a flight from Perth to Doha after he tried to open an emergency exit door. Qatar Airways flight QR901 left Perth on August 6 and was still more than two hours from Doha when a man tried to open a door. A Perth woman who was onboard the flight said passengers screamed during the incident. “A young male tried to open the door of the plane approximately two and a half hours from Doha,” she said. “He was restrained and finally handcuffed. “There were screams.” A Qatar Airways spokesperson said the passenger was immediately stopped from opening the door and there was “never any danger to anyone”. “The flight operations were not impacted. The relevant authorities were notified on arrival,” the spokesperson said. The Australian Federal Police were not contacted about the incident.
