A fiery late-night crash has left two people in hospital and forced the closure of a major Perth highway.
Emergency services raced to Tonkin Highway in Martin about 10.11pm on Friday after two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes near Mills Road East.
The force of the crash caused one of the vehicles to burst into flames.
One person was taken to Armadale Hospital and another was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital.
The extent of their injuries is not known.
The crash sparked a major emergency response, with police closing the northbound lanes of Tonkin Highway between Albany Highway and Gosnells Road West.
The closure remained in place on Saturday morning as crews continued their work at the scene.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area, expect delays and seek an alternate route while the highway remains closed.
Police investigations are continuing.
