Pedestrian in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Morley

There are major traffic delays in Morley after a woman was hit by a car.

Walter Road has been closed eastbound between Blade Close and Collier Road after the car crashed into the 82-year-old pedestrian about 9.40am.

The woman has serious spinal injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance under priority.

It is believed she was conscious at the scene but was in a critical condition.

Main Roads WA said there was heavy traffic in the area and has urged motorists to stay away.

Police are analysing the scene, with officers conducting traffic.
