The Lake Kununurra Golf Club celebrated its return to what’s hoped to be a normal season at its 2021 Open Day recently.

About 85 people joined the six-hole Ambrose competition on Saturday, March 27, with patron Rod Puckridge playing the first tee shot of the season.

He joined Nat Barnes, Warren Chapman and Stuart Carlson in the Odd Bods team, which took home first place. Bridesmaids came in second, while Here for Another Beer placed third and Dicko’s for Queens of Wizardry placed fourth.

The CGL Girls were awarded the booby prize for last place. It marks the start of the regular 18-hole Sunday competition at the Lake Kununurra Golf Club, which will play until October.

Last year’s season was interrupted because of COVID-19.
