A teenage rape victim has bravely confronted her attacker in court as she asked a magistrate to jail the “monster” who attacked her on a mattress at a house party.

The boy, who cannot be identified, on Thursday faced a sentence hearing in the Parramatta Children’s Court over the 2019 attack for which he is facing jail.

The court heard he raped the girl on a mattress in the living room, within earshot of other partygoers.

The girl told the court of the horrendous toll the ordeal had wrought on her life, family and friends.

“I hate you for what you did to me,” she said in a powerful victim impact statement she read to the court.

“You don’t deserve to be happy after the cruelty you showed me. I’ve struggled every day since, so have my parents, my little sister, my friends and loved ones.

“And you continue to live your life without repercussions.”

She described him as a “monster” and told the magistrate she hoped he was jailed so he could not hurt anyone else.

She said she had struggled with an eating disorder, attempted self harm, suffered flashbacks, nightmares and had to be heavily medicated, which had serious side effects.

“My loving dad had to watch her baby girl scream about how much she wants to kill herself,” she tearfully told the court.

She said she wished she could turn back time and stay home to watch a movie “instead of going to that stupid party” having lost years of her life.

“I hope the magistrate puts you where you can’t hurt anyone else,” she said.

The boy pleaded not guilty, but following a trial earlier this year a magistrate found him guilty of six counts of sexual assault and one count of choking without consent.

He was found not guilty of a further two charges of sexual assault, common assault and choking causing loss of consciousness.

The court heard he had continued to deny having done anything wrong and had not shown contrition or remorse.

Despite this, his lawyer asked he be allowed to serve any sentence in the community, saying he had a low risk of reoffending.

The young woman has previously told the Sunday Telegraph she believed the rape could have been prevented if her Blue Mountains school had acted earlier.

She says that four days before the sexual assault, her parents met with staff at the high school to raise their concerns about the boy and claims of harassment.

Officers launched an investigation under Strike Force Woollala after the rape was reported to police.

The Education Department launched an inquiry after her parents lodged a complaint that they had gone to the school but their warning wasn’t acted upon.

The department has previously said it was “not appropriate” to comment on the matter while it was before the courts.

The boy will be sentenced later this month.
