A man has been accused of assaulting and threatening to spray another man’s home with bullets in an alleged shakedown, a court has been told.

Details of the alleged threat Angelo David Lambropoulos made to the victim were revealed at a bail hearing at Brisbane Supreme Court on Friday.

Mr Lambropoulos is charged with extortion, deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.

The court was told the complainant was allegedly dragged into a blue Hyundai hatchback

near his Logan Village home in April.

Mr Lambropoulos was allegedly sitting in the back and began punching the victim in the head.

It is alleged he then told the victim: “You owe me $20k, or I’m going to spray bullets through your house and kill you.”

Mr Lambropoulos is alleged to have then said: “You screwed me over with the club, opened your mouth about old mate.”

The court was told the victim was allegedly punched several times before being told to get out of the car while it was moving at 30km/h.

Mr Lambropoulos, 26, denies the allegations.

His lawyer said the complainant had given “varying versions” of what had occurred.

“The description of the injuries were not consistent with the injuries in police photographs,” he said.

Mr Lambropoulos’ lawyer said it was inconsistent with the alleged victim’s claims that he was hit 10-12 times during the alleged assault.

He said his client had only associated with members of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang for “companionship” and due to his interest in bikes.

But the Crown prosecutor maintained the case against Mr Lambropoulos was strong, noting eyewitnesses had provided statements to police.

One of them included the complainant’s girlfriend, who was on the street with him at the time of the alleged incident, the court was told.

Bail was ultimately granted, with Justice Sean Cooper saying stringent bail conditions could mitigate any potential risks when Mr Lambropoulos was released.

“I proceed on the basis while it may not be appropriate to describe the Crown case as a weak case, given the issues identified in the applicant’s submissions concerning the complainant’s evidence and inconsistencies arising, that the case will be contested and will face some difficulties,” he said.
