One of Bunbury Regional Art Gallery’s flagship exhibitions has come around again with the South Western Times Art 2020 opening this Friday night.

The exhibition showcases an eclectic mix of creative talent from South West artists as they express their take on the pressing issues of the moment.

Exhibition art curator Lee Kinsella said “the works of art in the exhibition allow us to reflect upon what it is that sustains us”.

Artist Natalia Ford said more art was therapeutic for the community.

“It’s an amazing opportunity for people to come and see what is really happening out there in the community and listen,” she said.

Artist Britta Sorensen said she thought the exhibition represented a joined voice of the artists in the South West region.

“Because we’re so dispersed over a large area you quite often don’t know that we’re there and coming together I think we make quite a big statement,” she said.

Opening night will see BRAG brought to life with live music, performance art and food and drinks.

A $10,000 prize will be awarded on the night, as well as a $500 Winemakers of Geographe Bay prize and $200 worth of art supplies from Jacksons Drawing Supplies to an emerging artist.

South Western Times Art 2020 will be on show until April 27.
