Local businesses are encouraged to nominate for the community’s highest business honour, with applications for the 2022 Busselton Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Awards now open.

Now in it’s fourth year, the Business Excellence Awards celebrate businesses’ success over the past year through a thorough internal reflection of their overall management.

With a range of categories open, BCCI president Michael Brown said it was an opportunity not to be missed.

“The excellence awards allow businesses to think strategically about their achievements over the year, but also get them to look at their marketing, customer service, financial management and a whole range of other aspects for an overall holistic snapshot of how they are progressing,” he said.

Despite the admittedly rigorous application process, Mr Brown said the strict criteria is representative of the “intrinsic value” of the honour.

He recommended businesses “be brave” and put forth themselves for this year’s pool before applications close on August 31.

“For businesses intimidated by the process for judging my response would be, be brave and just embrace feedback, it is a great way to get constructive criticism to better and grow yourself for the future,” he said.

“If you are unsure about applying don’t be scared to contact the Chamber if you have an queries, don’t procrastinate, just jump in.”

Throughout the application process, the independent judging panel will perform an annual business check-up on entrants, allowing them to raise their profile and reputation while also growing company morale.
