Woolworths introduces Mullewa grocery delivery service after community petition received 132 signatures

A major supermarket has answered Mullewa residents’ calls for a grocery delivery service in the town after 132 people signed a petition that claimed families travelled hundreds of kilometres for fresh food. Woolworths is now providing a delivery service in Mullewa, saving residents a 200km round trip to do their shopping in Geraldton. While local businesses Thurkles Mullewa and Yarrumba Deli supply a variety of produce and supplies at their stores, grocery deliveries will now be available every Wednesday and Thursday morning. A community-led petition created in May called for a delivery service, saying it would provide relief to families travelling to Geraldton to do their grocery run. The petition garnered 132 signatures. A Woolworths spokesperson said the supermarket had taken community feedback on board and established a delivery service for people in Mullewa. “We’re always listening to feedback to better understand how we can best meet the needs of our customers and are pleased to announce that customers in Mullewa will now be able to place orders for home delivery,” they said. “Orders will be fulfilled from our Geraldton store, and orders will be able to be placed for Wednesday and Thursday mornings. “We would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide this feedback, which has helped us improve our services.” Both Woolworths stores in Geraldton generally operate a delivery service to households within a 65km radius.
