A group on e-bikes and scooters caused chaos in Stirling on Friday, weaving between cars, running red lights and even filming while riding — but one discovered they couldn’t outrun a police aircraft.
It happened on Friday afternoon, with the group of at least six seen riding off-road through Stirling Civic Gardens near Cedric Street but also on the road, where they weaved in front of and between vehicles.

Video shows cars having to slam on the brakes as the e-rideables cross the road without regard for the traffic rules. One tore along a bush track, with pedestrians forced to stand aside.
Police said they also travelled through red traffic lights and at one stage, officers in their police aircraft filmed one rider pull out their phone and start filming while riding.

Police had descended on Stirling after multiple calls were made about the concerning behaviour about 1.20pm.
Their aircraft tracked one e-bike rider though several suburbs towards Herdsman Lake, directing police on the ground to the rider’s location.

That person — believed to be a juvenile — has been summonsed to appear before court at a later date, charged with reckless driving and having no authority to drive. An e-bike was also seized.
Police are trying to track down any of the other riders involved.
