Tash Peterson: Vegan activist wears purple lingerie for third ‘animal abuse’ protest at Perth’s Louis Vuitton

Notorious vegan activist Tash Peterson has returned Perth’s Louis Vuitton store for a third time to protest what she believes is alleged animal cruelty in the “leather, wool and fur industry”.

The 27-year-old from Bicton, along with several other activists, stood outside the doors of the designer shop in Perth on Saturday wearing nothing but lingerie and holding signs, with one stating “cruelty is not classy”.

In pictures uploaded to Instagram , Peterson , holds a TV with an indistinct image on it while wearing nothing more than purple smalls.

The activist, who compares eating meat to the “animal holocaust”, later carries a sign that says: “If you’re not vegan you’re an animal abuser.”

“Third protest at Louis Vuitton and we thought it would be fitting to stay in our lingerie as why would you wear someone else’s skin when you can wear your own?” the caption on the social media post read.

“Severe animal abuse has been documented in the leather, wool, fur and down industries. If you’re not vegan, you have blood on your hands.”

At least five women were wearing lingerie and holding signs, as well as “Dominion Movement” tote bags, outside the designer shop.

In one of the photos, customers inside the store look to have their backs turned away from the group and continue to shop despite the commotion.

Many pedestrians watch on as the scenes unfold, with City of Perth security monitoring the scene.

It is believe the group stayed outside Louis Vuitton for some time before continuing to walk through the shopping district in their underwear while holding signs and filming.

The news came as Peterson revealed she’d been booted off Instagram - but has been able to keep posting on another account.

On Friday the 27-year-old, who has been banned from every licensed venue in WA, revealed she had now been barred from Instagram as well.

She had accrued 31,000 followers on the platform.

Peterson said the whole saga began in May, when two of her posts were removed for violating Instagram’s community guidelines.

Despite the removal of her account, @vganbooty - the Bicton activist has started posting on another profile she created in May, @vganbootyy.

The latest Louis Vuitton protest came after Peterson was charged with disorderly behaviour in public for storming the luxury boutique while covered in menstrual blood and wearing nothing but a G-string just three weeks ago.

The activist entered the store carrying a placard that read: “I would rather be naked than wearing someone else’s skin.”

In a video uploaded to Instagram, she can be heard yelling “who was murdered for your leather bag, down jacket and woollen jumper?” at shoppers as she was ushered out the store by security.

In another protest just days later outside the same store, Peterson yelled at shoppers in line to “stop discriminating others based on their species”, claiming it was “no different to being a racist or a sexist”.

Peterson is expected to face the Magistrates Court on September 13.
