A crash on Kwinana Freeway northbound closed a lane on the major Perth road, plunging motorists into peak hour traffic chaos on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash is located after South Street in Bateman and was reported by Main Roads at 4.04pm.
The right lane was completely blocked by the crash, which is causing heavy congestion.
Main Roads has urged motorists to drive carefully if travelling in the area.

Further north, a breakdown has closed a lane on Kwinana Freeway northbound.
The breakdown is located on Mount Henry Bridge in Salter Point and was reported by Main Roads at 3.11pm.
The left lane was blocked by the incident, which is causing heavy congestion.
Both the crash and the breakdown have since been cleared, but traffic remains slow in both areas.
