A major emergency is unfolding in Perth’s east where a car has rolled over, causing disruptions to traffic.

A man in his 60s has been injured in the crash, with emergency crews including police and St John Ambulance responding to the incident on Tonkin Highway about 5.30am.

Three ambulance crews arrived at 5.38am and rushed the man to Royal Perth Hospital under lights and sirens.

Motorists have been told to avoid the area and the southbound exit to Horrie Miler Drive at Perth Airport is closed.

The closure is under police direction.

More to come.
