Divine You’s Christmas lunch brings festive joy to all

Last year’s annual Community Christmas Luncheon held by local charity group Divine You was one of the biggest yet, with 57 people sharing in the Christmas spirit.

Divine You’s Sister Sahaya said she was pleased to see the luncheon was gaining popularity.

“Those who have nowhere to go always know that Divine You is a place where they are welcome,” she said.

“We’ve seen the event increase in numbers every year.

“This year (2020) we even had people making the journey from Perth to be part of the day.”

Doors opened at noon, with lunch, gifts and plenty of festive cheer on offer.

Ms Sahaya said it was heartening to see families volunteering and contributing food and gifts.

“Christmas is a time of celebration,” Ms Sahaya said.

“Some people may find it lonely and Christmas may not be a good time for some.

“We try to make it a happy time for everyone”.
