Missing Mandurah teen Andrew Howlett found ‘safe and well’ after nine days

A Mandurah teen who had been missing for nine days has been found safe and well.

It is believed 13-year-old Andrew Howlett made contact with people who then alerted police and arranged for them to meet up.

It is understood he had been staying with a number of different people during the nine days.

Andrew was reported missing to police by his mother Misha Guy, who delivered an emotional plea to the public on Tuesday after not having seen her son for more than a week.

Ms Guy said it was “not like her son” to be away from home for so long.

“It’s been eight days and I don’t understand why no one’s seen him or heard anything from him,” Ms Guy said outside Mandurah Police Station on Tuesday.

“To me eight days is a long time, and I don’t know what else I can do to try and find him.”

The 13-year-old hadn’t been seen since last Monday after he allegedly skipped school and went to a friend’s house in the Mandurah suburb of Greenfields.

When Ms Guy arrived to pick Andrew up, he insisted he walked home and ran off into nearby Bortolo Park leaving behind his backpack and phone.

Police say all family members have been notified and are “obviously relieved”.
