Women in 50s transported to hospital in Jurien Bay after hiking Mt Lesueur National Park with mother in 80s

A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital in Jurien Bay after she developed heatstroke hiking at the Mount Lesueur with her elderly mother last weekend. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services received a call on Sunday, April 23 about 10am that two people required assistance 1km down a walking track at Mt Lesueur National Park in Hill River, south of Green Head. DFES said a St John WA ambulance attended and crew walked a mother in her 80s and a daughter in her 50s out with help from Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions park rangers in the area. A St John WA spokesperson said the woman in her 50s was transported to Jurien Bay Health Centre for treatment of heatstroke, while the mother in her 80s was assessed at the scene and did not require medical assistance.
