A 50-year-old woman has been flown to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries after she was stabbed in her Dongara home yesterday.

Police were called to the scene about 6.15am.

Then, at about 4.40pm, a man in his 50s was found in a vehicle on an off road track in Dongara with serious injuries thought to have been self-inflicted.

A Police spokeswoman said the man and the woman were known to each other and Geraldton detectives were investigating if the two incidents were linked.

Both were flown to Royal Perth Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service for further medical treatment.

Police inquiries are ongoing.
