The West Australian Symphony Orchestra is heading to Geraldton on Thursday night for the first stop of their Four Seasons Tour. Geraldton locals will be treated to much-loved works by Mozart including The Marriage of Figaro: Overture, Beethoven’s Symphony No.8 and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. WASO perform music that has delighted the world for centuries, and continues to inspire popular culture today. According to WASO, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is one of the most famous pieces of music. “Remixed and repurposed to provide the soundtrack to our favourite movies and TV shows, from The Hangover to Pretty Woman, The Simpsons to The Chef’s Table, this 300-year old musical ode to nature continues to amaze and excite with its evocative imagery.” “There is nothing quite like the thrill of the classics performed live by WASO on tour.” The show will be lead by 2022 WASO assistant conductor Jen Winley while violinist Laurence Jackson will also perform. Less than 50 tickets remain for tomorrow’s show, doors open at 6pm and the concert starts at 7pm. After Thursday night’s performance, WASO will continue their tour in Bunbury on August 7 at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.
