Ten Mid West and Gascoyne businesses benefit from latest round of State Government’s Local Capability Fund

Ten Mid West and Gascoyne businesses will share in more than $150,000 under the State Government’s Local Capability Fund to help them grow and cover essential expenses. They are part of 44 regional businesses — covering the agricultural, construction, tourism, hospitality, trade and wineries industries — benefitting from the latest round of funding, totalling more than $670,000. Businesses can apply for grants up to $20,000 to help with their operating expenditures. Minister Assisting the Minister for State and Industry Development Stephen Dawson said this latest round of funding was focused on supporting small-to-medium-sized enterprises. Among the expenses the fund helps cover are buying or upgrading essential capital equipment, meeting essential pre-qualification requirements for supply chain entry or the purchase of expert consultancies on a range of business and market issues. The LCF has delivered more than $26 million to 716 businesses, including 374 regional businesses, across a range of industries. For every $1 of LCF funding awarded, $48 of contracts have been won by WA small-to-medium-sized enterprises, equating to more than $1.25 billion in new contracts and 2350 jobs and 297 apprenticeships created. In the Mid West, five business — Geraldton Solar ($20,000), Growest Wholesale Nursery ($20,000), JMH Group ($16,870), Fenn Plumbing and Gas ($16,315) and Vac West Industrial ($2500) were awarded more than $75,000 in funding. Meanwhile, $79,000 was handed out to Gascoyne businesses — Gulf Cleaning Services ($20,000), Exmouth Freight and Logistics ($20,000), View Ningaloo ($18,182), Warroora Station ($12,500) and Exmouth Camper Hire ($8350.42).
