Teen volunteer up for another achiever award

Denham youth volunteer Kyle Dobney has been nominated for the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards for his efforts in supporting the Shark Bay Youth Group.

The 14 year-old has been nominated for the youth achievement award, which recognises young West Australians showing leadership, a positive approach to life and outstanding contributions to society.

Kyle was nominated by Rebecca Moroney, chairwoman of the Shark Bay Youth Group, who said Kyle was a role model to his peers and was an active and committed member of the Shark Bay Youth Group throughout 2019.

He won the youth group’s youth of the year award in 2019.

Nominations for the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards have closed and judgingwill take place on March 18.

Kyle was among a number of young nominees from around the State.

Awards recipients will be announced at a gala presentation on June 5.
