Leeman-based Rebecca Smith, three days old, met her grandmother, her great-grandmother and her great-great-grandmother in Geraldton last week. New grandmother Tracey Tapscott said having everybody in the room together was “unexplainable”. “It was so much in one room ... it was the type of opportunity you couldn’t let pass,” she said. The women consider themselves true Midwesterners, having spent their lives in Geraldton, Three Springs, Winchester and Leeman. According to Tracey Tapscott, the main thing they have in common is their big personalities. She said it was special to see her grandmother, 87, holding her new granddaughter, and it made her feel nostalgic and excited at the same time. “My mum was such a beautiful grandmother and I want to take a leaf out of her book,” she said.
