Talent came out in the round five of the Geraldton motocross season

As the 2023 MotoX season draws to a close, round five of Geraldton motocross saw an incredible display of talent from riders of all ages. With the women and the four- to seven-year-old age groups taking to the track, it was a day of excitement, showcasing both seasoned veterans and rising stars. In the senior classes, Seth Patience stood out, dominating the competition on the back of his impressive second overall finish at the tri-series in MX A-grade. Patience’s skill was on full display as he navigated the challenging course with finesse, leaving his competitors in his dust. In the junior lites category, Damian Leighton left no room for doubt, making a clean sweep of the races. It was a remarkable performance by Leighton, but the highlight of the day was the return of the injured rider, Eddie Fay. Fay showcased immense courage and skill, clinching a well-deserved second place. One rider who truly stole the show was Torin Weller, who competed in the demo 50cc class and faced ongoing bike troubles, but kept his spirits high and a positive attitude through the issues. The event also witnessed an incredible display of talent from the women riders, with Makala Edwards and Lilli Patience holding their own against their male counterparts. Round five comes off the back off several Geraldton riders placing in the Tri series tournament, which was held in Noble Falls, Jurien Bay and Geraldton across the season. With Leighton placing first and second in the junior lites and 85BW divisions. Toby Edmonds also impressed with his first place finish in the 65cc division. As the season reaches its climax, there is just one round left to go for the 2023 Motocross campaign. “The club wants to thank all our volunteers as we head to the end of the season,” A club spokesperson said. “With one round of racing to go, it’s been a pleasure to watch the rider’s progress and today have an event-free round of racing. “The club is looking forward to hosting its MX under lights on November 11th and aims to make this event bigger and better each year.”
