Shire of Carnarvon wins Aware Super 2023 Warlang Award for Workplace Wellbeing in u15,000 population category

The Shire of Carnarvon has been singled out for praise, winning an award for workplace wellbeing.
The Shire took home the Aware Super 2023 Warlang Award for Workplace Wellbeing last month in the below 15,000 population category. The award, named after the Noongar word for “healthy”, was organised by Local Government Professionals Australia.
Five local governments in WA were recognised for their contribution to fostering a culture of health, learning, inclusion, flexibility and work/life balance in the workplace.
The Shire of Carnarvon has reviewed and expanded its retention policy, which has resulted in a decline in staff turnover, from 38 per cent in 2021 to 10 per cent in 2023.
“This award is testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team,” Shire CEO Andrea Selvey said.
“We are committed to ensuring our employees enjoy a healthy and inclusive workplace. This recognition is a significant milestone for us, motivating us to continue our journey towards workplace excellence.”
