A Shark Bay tour guide will feature among online video segments highlighting tourist attractions around Australia this weekend.

Darren ‘Capes’ Capewell will talk about the Aboriginal people and Shark Bay when Tourism Australia streams its Live from Aus program on Facebook.

Launched tomorrow, the back-to-back weekend program will include live segments filmed across Australia and aims to inspire people to travel within Australia when coronavirus restrictions are lifted.

Mr Capewell, a descendant of the Nhanda and Malgana people, will tell Dreamtime stories live from Shark Bay on Sunday, at 7pm.

He and daughter Helena plan to cook fish over a campfire as they share cultural stories about the inhabitants’ spiritual connection to the ‘beautiful land’ of the Gutharraguda (Shark Bay) region.

Another Western Australian to feature in the national program will be Scott Connell, who will deliver a snapshot from the Kimberley, at 2pm on Sunday.

See the full weekend schedule on the Live From Aus Facebook event page.
