Severe storm warning for Carnarvon and Mid West

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued today for Carnarvon, Mount Magnet, Meekatharra and the Murchison.

The Bureau of Meteorology said people in and around these areas should prepare for the possibility of damaging winds, heavy rainfall and flash flooding into the evening.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises people to be prepared by unplugging electrical appliances, stay indoors and if flooding occurs place sandbags around doorways to protect your home.
