Seven teenage boys arrested within hours of Mullewa burglary

Seven teenage boys were arrested within hours of the burglary of a Mullewa home yesterday afternoon.

Police received a report of the break-in, at a home on Short Street, about noon.

Sergeant Chris Martin, officer-in-charge at Mullewa Police Station, said the intruders jemmied open the back door of the house with a shovel and stole $90 cash.

Officers arrested the boys at the Mullewa Youth Centre about 3.45pm.

Two 15-year-olds, from Carnarvon and Mullewa, were charged with aggravated home burglary and stealing.

One of the boys was due to face Geraldton Children’s Court this morning, while the other will face Mullewa Children’s Court on June 13.

Sgt Martin said enquiries were ongoing.
