Geraldton Scout Group was out in force and stationed at bothof Geraldton’s McDonald’s stores on Saturday as members rattled their fundraising tins in support of McHappy Day.

In the 25th year of the fundraiser, the Geraldton Scouts helped raise funds for the annual event supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provides accommodation for regional families with sick children receiving treatment across Australia.

Geraldton Scout Group’s Karen Link said the children and Scout leaders had been amazed at the generosity of the public.

“A car put a $100 note into one of the kid’s fundraising buckets and he just couldn’t believe his eyes,” she said.

“The generosity has been outstanding and we thank anyone who donated.”
