RU OK? Blue tree to go ahead on Kalbarri foreshore after council approval at March meeting

Kalbarri is set to have a blue RU OK? tree painted on Chinaman’s Beach after the Shire of Northampton council approved the proposal. The motion put forward by a local school to paint a tree blue on the foreshore was voted on after councillors were advised the Kalbarri Development Association supported the project but not the location of the tree. The location was believed to be “inappropriate” because it would “ distract from the natural outlook and beauty of the area”. The project aimed to positively encourage mental health awareness was raised at a council meeting at the Northampton Council Chamber on Friday, March 18. The council approved the location of the blue tree to be painted on the Chinaman’s Beach foreshore as requested. The Kalbarri school project will go ahead as a reminder for community members to be aware of their mental health.
