Police release names of Kalbarri couple killed in car crash

Police have released the names of an elderly couple from Kalbarri who were killed in a single car crash near Northampton on Friday.

They were Ian Donald Ingram, 81, and Iris Mary Ingram, 79.

The driver, a 45-year-old Kalbarri man, received serious leg and foot injuries and was taken to Geraldton Hospital before being transferred to Perth.

Police said he was driving a blue Ford Falcon sedan north on Port Gregory Road at Sandy Gully, about 16 kilometres north-west of Northampton, when the vehicle left the road and slammed into a tree about 1.55pm.

The WA Police Major Crash Section are investigating.

Anyone who saw the vehicle being driven before the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
